Onondaga Cave

It was really hot in August and we wanted a fun activity that would not force us to be outside in the heat.  Jim had been fighting fire pretty much non-stop and wanted to get out of cell phone range and enjoy a day with us.  He suggested going to a cave.  We spent the day at Onondaga Cave.  It met all of our needs, no cell phone coverage, nice and cool, a hike short enough for Lindy to do and time together as a family!

 Lindy taking pictures.
Her camera has no flash and is pretty blurry so none of her pictures turned out, but she had fun taking them!

Carrying a passed out Owen
The guide told us that the running stroller would not work in the cave.
We carried Owen through the whole tour and made the discovery that yes, it would have worked, all of the paths were wide enough.
He had told us not to bring it because he didn't think we would be able to push it up the steep inclines.
Little did he know what Jim does for a living and he would have been just fine pushing it!

This was a short but very cool tour.  It was not nearly as long as Carlsbad Caverns but was very beautiful and the right distance for a 3 1/2 year old to walk!
