A Girl and Her Dog

We had no concerns about Buffalo welcoming the new baby home. Shelby, on the other hand, had no experience with children. When we would walk in Durango, Buffalo would give any small person a lick on the face and would stick his head in strollers to do so! Shelby would want nothing to do with what was in the stroller, especially if it was making noise. Since we had to put the Big Guy down in November, we really didn't know how Shelby would react to the baby. As you can see, all fears we had about her adjusting have gone away!

Did Mom and Dad change your diaper Lindy?

Lindy, are you ok?

Mom, did you know that no one is holding the baby?

If we want Lindy to have time to lay and stretch out and spend time on her tummy, we have to put the dog outside, or put Lindy on a monitored high surface. Shelby licks her every chance she gets! Shelby is also pretty sure that we are inadequate parents. If Lindy so much as fusses, Shelby runs to her side and tries to comfort her with licks. Shelby will then run between us and the baby until Lindy is in our arms! So far, the two seem to be the best of friends!

Pets make good companions. Lindy is so cute! I hope motherhood is settling in nice for you.
