Lucy and Lindy

The cat, Lucy, has had a luke warm reaction to the baby to say the least! When we put together the nursery, Lucy was pretty sure that we had made that room for her. She took long, luxurious naps on the changing table and in the crib, she laid in the rocking chair, and crawled in the window to watch the traffic go by on 20th Street while the sun streamed in. She was rather upset when we brought this thing home from the hospital with us that laid on her changing table, in her crib and took up the laps that she so loved to sleep in! We have only seen her cuddle up to the baby once. We got pictures of it, just to prove it happened! Lucy will now lay on the edge of our laps when we are holding Lindy, so long as Lindy makes no noise and we don't touch Lucy. Lucy has never really liked to be petted or touched when she chooses to cuddle with you. She will get off of you if you touch her too much! Lucy will not go near the baby if one of us is not holding her. She may go close and sniff once or twice, but then bolts away like Lindy is going to try to throw her in the bathtub!

Lucy prefers to cuddle with Smokey Bear. He doesn't move, he doesn't touch her while she is sleeping, and he doesn't hold the baby!

Lucy trying to find a way to cuddle with me while the baby is around too! She waited until Lindy was asleep before crawling up on my lap. Lucy didn't look to happy and jumped down as soon as Lindy made a noise.
