One of the ladies that Jim worked with in Durango was retiring and moving to Washington state. She told Jim that she had an antique hospital bed with a brand new twin size mattress that she wanted to get rid of. She offered it to Jim for a little bit of nothing for Lindy. We, of course, took her up on the offer and thanked her very much! The bed was covered in so many layers of paint that it was impossible to see much of the detail on it. My friend has a husband who does some auto body work on the side of his compressor shop. She told me to bring it to their house and they would refinish it as a gift to Lindy. What she ended up with was a bed with story! It is now a beautiful smooth white with pineapple detailing on the corners. I am working on a quilt to go on it.
Lindy's first night in her big girl bed!
She slept all night and never fell out.
I never did find the set of sheets the bed came with.
I ended up having to buy her a new set.
Lindy napping like a pro in her big girl bed with Pete the Ladybug, Dolly, Slicky and Olivia!
Thank you so much to Jeanie Harris for the bed. Our baby girl has a beautiful antique that will be with her for a long time!
Thank you to the entire Hank family for the time and effort you all put into sandblasting and painting Lindy's bed.
