The Swing Set!

I had been wanting a swing set for Lindy for some time.  It was tough in our yard in New Mexico because there was no shade, mostly rocks and it was super hot back there.  This house has a yard that looks more like a park!  There was a swing set here when we moved in.  It was a wooden structure that was missing boards, had cracked boards and swayed if you walked past it.  We knew that it was not at all safe in any way.  Lindy played on it some, but it was nerve racking.  When her buddy Wyatt would play with her on it, it was terrifying.  It finally was dealt a death blow when the climbing rungs broke and it was no longer stable at all.  We tried to take it apart piece by piece because the owners loved it.  The wood was so rotted that we could not get the bolts out of the housings because they just spun in the rotted wood.  We ended up deciding to just cut it down with the circular saw.  It didn't take many cuts for it to go tumbling down.  We were lucky found this swing set on clearance, it was the last one they had.  We spent one whole Saturday putting it together.  We first noticed that none of the part numbers in the manual matched the packaging.  Then we noticed that the steps were not necessarily in order.  Luckily, we kept our senses of humor about us and Lindy was able to play after her nap!

Going down the slide for the first time.

 Riding the glider.

 Wheee!

Muscles climbing up on the glider all by herself.
She is so darn strong!
We showed her once where to put her feet and she can get on and off independently.
